What is my next step?
The decision to become a follower of Jesus is the most important decision anyone can make. and we are so excited to come along the journey with you! Here are some helpful tips for starting this new part of your life.
Reading the Bible
The bible is the main way God speaks to us and reveals Himself to us. It points us to Jesus and gives instructions for living. Through the Bible, we can connect with God and build a day-to-day relationship with Jesus. It is the living and active word of God. So, before you read a section of the Bible, ask God to help you understand what you’re reading. Then, when you’ve finished, talk to God about how you should respond to what you’ve read. Don’t worry if you find reading the Bible confusing or feel like you have a long way to go. People who have been Christians for a long time are still learning new things about God from His word. It’s always okay to ask for help.
Join a care group
Care Groups are one of the building blocks of our church. Care groups are groups of people that get together on a regular basis to connect, support & pray for each other and to grow spiritually in our walk with Jesus. Care groups are a safe environment where we can feel part of a small community and therefore feel connected to a larger community. We encourage everyone to join a Care Group, because no one should do life alone. We are better together! More information can be found by clicking the "Our Community" page.
Prayer
Prayer is a conversation with God, and so doesn’t have to be scary. We usually begin by thanking God for who He is and what we have. God is our provider, so we can then tell God what we need. It is also important to repent for what we have done wrong, asking God for forgiveness, and then choosing to forgive others. After you pray, give God room to speak to you by saying “Speak Lord, I am listening.”
