 New to faith?

Have you ever wondered why Jesus died on a cross and how this effects us?

Relationship 01.png

In the beginning, God created people to be in a relationship with him. His intention was that we would live in perfect joy, harmony and obedience to His ways.

But through disobedience to His instructions, people were separated from God. The relationship was broken because God is righteous and pure and therefore could not live in unity with sin.  It’s not just Adam and Eve who are guilty of sin, for the Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). What's worse is that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). That’s not just physical death, but spiritual death, meaning separation of our sinful, rebellious selves from the
unity of God forever.

The “Good News” for us is that Jesus stepped out of heaven to die a sacrificial death for us in payment for our sin and therefore make a way for us to be reunited with God.

So how can we receive this “Good News”?

The Bible says: “If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9). Salvation is God’s free gift to us and we become forgiven of our sin and reunited back into a relationship with God if we simply believe and confess. This sounds simple I know but this is what we call the grace of God.

If you are not sure whether you are right with God or you know in fact that you need to confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour, then you can choose to follow Him right now by praying this prayer of confession and surrender.

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I have sinned,

And I ask for Your forgiveness

I believe You died for my sin

And I choose to trust You as my Saviour and Lord

I invite You into my Heart

And ask You to guide my life

Thank You for restoring my relationship back with You.

In Jesus Name. Amen.
